Simon is an investor in private companies and currently acts as an independent consultant working with venture capital funds on capital deployment as well as advising founders on fundraising strategy.

He was previously Investment Director of Pembroke VCT plc where he was responsible for investing in 30 new businesses and 150 follow-on investments worth over £100m. He led a team responsible for all new and follow-on investments including detailed due diligence on the opportunities for the fund and structuring of the deals.

He has served as a board director to multiple companies including Troubadour Goods and Alexa Chung.

Prior to his roles in the venture space, he was previously a corporate finance adviser working on buy and sell side mandates in the mid-market TMT sector. He has acted as a contributing author to articles published in FT Adviser, International Adviser, Money Marketing, Professional Adviser, What Investment and is a regular panellist at industry events.

He graduated from the University of Bristol in 2009 with a Masters and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
